CFO | InsurTech | Series B

Who’s the business:

Zanda is partnering with a London based InsurTech / Insurance firm as it looks for an experienced CFO to play a key role in developing and delivery the long term strategic objectives of the business. This impressive firm, backed by some top tier VCs has experienced significant growth and is now targeting profitability in the next 6 months.

The business has assembled an impressive senior leadership team and looks forward to an impactful CFO joining to lead all areas strategic planning, fundraising, investor relations, board reporting, tax, risk, legal and compliance. The successful CFO will play a key role in the businesses key objective to reach profitability before embarking on another fundraising process.

Following this period the business will look to scale further in the UK and explore international opportunities. It is likely that the business will have circa 150 employees in the next 1-2 years and therefore we are looking for a CFO who knows what good looks like in a business of this size.

What experiences you will gain:

• Establishing a best in class finance function covering all the key areas of strategic planning, FP&A, BI, management reporting, tax, treasury, compliance and risk.
• Play a key role in driving the top & bottom line target numbers to enable the business to reach profitability in the next 12 months.
• Lead on all fundraising activity including the production of all financial models, scenario planning, investor decks. Presentation, negotiation, and investor reporting directly with venture capital and private equity firms with a focus on a future Series C fundraise.
• Be a key member of the Executive team, providing strategic guidance and support on financial and tax strategies. Interface directly with the Board, Investors, Audit and Compensation Committees of the Board, ensuring they have a clear sense of the overall financial health and potential risk areas of the company.
• Establish themselves as a strong “co-pilot” by supporting the CEO in strategic planning and driving the delivery of the business plan.
• Leadership and development of a highly insightful and scalable finance function, able to inspire the strategic direction of the business.
• Help to drive profitable growth, both in the UK & Internationally.

What background should you have before you press apply!

• Experienced VP Finance or CFO with prior experience within Insurance or an InsurTech business.
• Previously worked in a high growth environment ideally within a Startup / Scaleup that is VC or PE backed.
• An excellent understanding and interest in unit economics - Strong on metric, analytical partner, product spend, cash allocation, growth driven etc.
• Previously played a leading role in a fundraising, investor relations, IPO or exit.
• Strong academic credentials with experience gained within a top tier investment bank, audit or consulting / strategy firm
• Accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA. An MBA qualification will also be considered when combined with relevant financial leadership and industry experience.
• Innovative, visionary thought partner with outstanding financial/business acumen and extensive qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
• A proven track record of building a finance team successfully inside a fast-growing and entrepreneurial company, ideally combining learnings from larger company environments on best practice.
• Previously helped to take a business with a significant burn rate to profitability.
